Ilene Block the Competitive bodybuilder in her 60s

A former attorney described how she turned to bodybuilding in her 60s and shed approximately 30 kilograms in two and a half years.
Ilene Block, a Hawaiian woman, started bodybuilding in 2020 and has since posted frequent updates on Instagram about her remarkable physical change.

"I've always wanted to compete in a bodybuilding show, but I couldn't commit to it in my thirties because of my demanding legal practice and raising my children."

"So, in February 2020, I enrolled in a macro-based program and made the decision that it didn't matter how long it would take as long as it was effective. I felt wonderful and shed 40 pounds within a year. "She started off losing weight, and now, 2.5 years later, she has reduced 30 kilos" Ilene said, "I'd always wanted to perform a bodybuilding event, but due to my demanding legal practice and raising my children, I could never commit to doing it throughout my thirties as the preparation is hard."

"In order to prepare a woman in her 60s for a show, I thus made the decision to contact a coach who had previously assisted in the preparation of ladies in their 50s. From there, everything came to fruition. Since then, I've participated in two figure bodybuilding competitions, and I'm currently getting ready for more competitions in the coming year."

"When I came on stage in my bikini, posing and feeling confident, I was just wondering, am I really doing this? I still can't believe I was able to accomplish this."

"It's incredible. I completely disagree with a friend of mine who claimed that women become invisible after the age of 50. I want to disprove prejudices and show that women can achieve their goals at any age."
